One of the projects that i took part in was the development of Sound design for a game level. During the project I was assigned to a small student team of three where we had to pick different roles for the project. My role for the project was of the music composer. The level was created using Unreal 4 game engine meaning that I had to utilize Unreal 4 to implement audio and music into the game.
As a music composer I designed a system of musical blocks which allowed me to link the created music in the level. The system works simply by extracting compositions in to stems which have the same tempo and chord progressions. Due to this reason, when the stems are continuously played throughout the level they can be smoothly faded in and out according to the situation or area that the player resides in. This creates a dynamic audio experience for the player when the player interacts with the game world of the level. The video on the left shows the final product of our project where the music system is also being displayed. The video is meant to illustrate the evidence of my music sound design for games as well as the use of Unreal 4 game creation software. |
