This project is a live cover of an Ed Sheeran track "Don't". Half of the instrumental was recorded live while filming the video due to wanting to have an accurate representation of the performance. After recording the video and audio a backing track of vocals and guitar were added to the mix in order to enhance the audio performance of the track.
The track was recorded using various audio equipment such as: 1) Sennheiser e 904 microphones used for the tom drums, 2) AKG 414 condenser microphones used to record drum overheads and acoustic guitar, 3) AKG D112 dynamic microphone used to recorded kick drum and the bass guitar amp, 4) Shure Sm7b dynamic microphone used to record vocals. 5) SSL mixing console used to mix the majority of the mix. When processing the recorded tracks, I used Pro-tools software to structure the audio. Furthermore, I used various audio plugins such as "Waves Q10 equalizer" and "Waves C1 Compressor" to further dynamically enhance the recorded drums, vocal, base and guitar tracks in pre-production. In addition, I edited the video using Sony Vegas video editing software. The video on the left serves as evidence to showcase the previously mentioned techniques regarding the job description. By pressing the file icon, you will be able to download the high quality file of the recording if technical analyses of the audio is needed. |
