"Small hours" is a film project developed by a Coventry university student group. I assisted the group as an additional sound designer due to having more experience with the processing of audio then the members of the group.
Throughout the film development I constructed Foley and ambient sound effects using various sound libraries. Such use of audio effects helped me to add realism to the student film project. Furthermore, I restored the dialog audio which was polluted by outside noise due to being recorded in an open area. To restore the audio, I used such equalizing techniques as High pass to get rid of the excess low frequency rumble picked up during the filming process. Furthermore, I utilized such audio software as Waves X-Noise to get rid of such polluting frequencies which were situated with in the mid-range of the recordings. Finally, I aided the students with dialog and music syncing with the footage of the film. The video on the right is the actual film project which serves as evidence for previously mentioned practices. |
